Our story begins with two people who worked in the immigration field, an immigration attorney who had 25 years working in the immigration community at the time, and a college graduate with extensive work experience in the areas of social services and community work, who lost their jobs and decided to collaborate and start their own non-profit. Their goal wasn’t to establish any regular organization, but an organization for the people in the communities where they lived and worked! As a result, they opened and offered drastically low-to-fair prices compared to the market at that time.
Such beginnings were extremely challenging since rent was expensive for a firm in its beginning stages in the city of New York. There were times where one of the individuals slept on a small inflatable mattress at the office in order to help as many people as he possibly could, and help generate sufficient income to sustain the office and remain in business, and despite the challenges, the team persevered. After three solid years of hard work and dedication, they were able to establish a solid list of clients.
They remained focused on their mission and exhausted all their efforts of community outreach, such as distributing flyers and going to different events in their communities, all of which allowed the firm to become what it is today, an international company with two offices located in New York, New York, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
